How people pay online

• BLIK was used by 72% of Polish online buyers in 2025, and 56% said it is the method they use most often. 1
• After BLIK, 64% of Polish online buyers paid by fast bank transfer through a payment service such as Przelewy24 or PayU, and 43% paid by card. 1

Taking payments from abroad

• Stripe accounts in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland and most EEA countries can accept BLIK from customers in Poland, charged in PLN. 3
• Stripe accounts in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore and most of Europe can accept Przelewy24 from Polish customers in PLN or EUR, but the website must show a tax ID, business registration number and returns policy, and dropshipping businesses are not allowed. 4
• Through Stripe, Klarna is available to customers in Poland in PLN only when the seller's Stripe account is in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland; businesses elsewhere can only sell to customers in their own country with Klarna. 5

Import tax and duty on parcels

• Goods shipped from outside the EU to buyers in Poland in consignments worth up to €150 (excluding excise goods) can go through the EU Import One Stop Shop (IOSS), and a seller based outside the EU must appoint an EU intermediary to use it. 6
• Since 1 July 2026 the EU no longer exempts consignments of up to €150 from customs duty, and items in those consignments sold as distance sales to buyers in Poland now carry a temporary fixed customs duty of €3 per item. 7
• Poland's basic VAT rate is 23% (since 1 January 2011), with reduced rates of 8% and 5%. 8
