How to sell to customers in Brazil

Pix, Brazil's instant bank payment system, took 42% of ecommerce value in 2025, and Stripe lets businesses in the US, Canada, UK, EU, Australia and Singapore accept it from Brazilian customers. Since 12 May 2026 the federal import tax on parcels up to US$50 is zero, tied to the selling platform's membership of the Receita Federal compliance program (Remessa Conforme), but state ICMS of 17% to 20% still applies. YouTube and Instagram each reach about 150 million people, and Mercado Livre's parent MercadoLibre has 89 million active buyers across Latin America.
